The  Tennessee Valley Healthcare System held a VAVS Community and Volunteer Awareness Program for those “Heroes” that support the Veterans of the United States of America.  The program also celebrated the work of the Tennessee Fisher House Foundation.  Entertainment was provided by country artist Sammy Sadler.   Army veteran Frank Maschhof and Special Forces veteran David Hughes gave testimonials of their experiences as residents of a Fisher House.  The event was attended by Fisher House board members Andrea Lawrence, Lee Hunt, Carol Grant, Tom Allard, Felicia Hix, David Hughes, Keith Lawrence and Claire Maxwell.  The event was also attended by Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner John Keys, Alvin C. York COO Emma Metcalf, TN DAR  State Regent Lynda Jones, TN DAR State Vice Regent Nancy Hemmrick, Tennessee Children of the American Revolution President Taylor Kyle and Dr. Patrick Ennis of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.  Logistic assistance was provided by local employees of Wal-Mart.
